The final summer assignment task requires you to synthesize a variety of sources into a coherent, well-written essay. When you synthesize sources, you refer to them to develop your position and cite them accurately. Your argument should be central; the sources should support the argument. Avoid merely summarizing sources. Remember to attribute--give credit to--both direct and indirect references to sources.
Introduction
The SAT and ACT have been used for several years by colleges as part of the admissions process. Currently, a great debate is raging about the SAT/ACT tests.
Assignment
Read the following sources carefully. Then, in a minimum three page essay that synthesizes at least three of the sources, develop a position about what role, if any, the SAT/ACT test should play in college admissions. Your essay should be double-spaced, with one-inch margins and use Ariel size 12 font. You do not need to include a Works Cited page unless you cite sources not listed below.
You may refer to the sources by their titles (Source A, Source B, etc.) or by their authors listed in parenthesis.
